Mentoring Inside Out (MIO)

MIO is a comprehensive program that gives children ages 7-14 of justice-involved parents support to stay in school and to become healthy, successful adults. The program works with the whole family. It includes individual mentoring, group activities, transportation for youth to prison for visits with parents, and parenting classes and support groups for parents and caregivers.

The PATHfinder Club: Paving a Trail of Hope

The PATHfinder club is a supportive club for high school aged youth who have been affected by incarceration, detention and deportation. Through art, expression and community PATHfinder Club members pave a trail from hurt and harm to hope and healing. Club sessions feature mindfulness, art, writing and community building to help counter the experience of shame and stigma. Staff with lived experience facilitate the club in collaboration with members. We wraparound youth who participate with support on their terms. We are currently partnering with Parkrose High School to deliver the first PATHfinder club.

POPS The Club

POPS the Club cultivates an inclusive space for youth who have been stigmatized and silenced by their experiences with the carceral system. POPS Clubs build positive self-identity through peer and adult support and understanding fostered by shared experiences. POPS empowers students to achieve their full potential by creating a loving community and encouraging self-expression. On February 1, 2023, The Pathfinder Network assumed responsibility for the operations and management of all POPS the Club programming.

Family Engagement Activities

The Center provides free family engagement events throughout the year that enhance family connectedness, create community, and reinforce healthy parenting skills. Events include outdoor gatherings in the park, trips to local attractions such as the zoo or art museum, sports game outings, seasonal holiday parties, movies, and on-site activities at our Center. During the pandemic, we have continued to offer socially distant events in-person events and virtual gatherings.
